Nuclear Facility, Regulatory and/or Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Examine nuclear plant equipment, monitor control room operations, and review technical records to ensure adherence to NRC regulations
• Perform risk-informed inspection activities to identify and prioritize potential safety or engineering vulnerabilities
• Respond to live plant issues and provide real-time, objective expertise to senior agency management
• Draft detailed quarterly reports summarizing inspection findings and regulatory violations for public transparency
• Lead regulatory meetings with plant executives and interface directly with local government officials or members of the public

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field
• 10+ years of experience preferred in nuclear power plant operations, commercial nuclear systems, or the U.S. Nuclear Navy
• Familiarity with NQA-1 and 10CFR Part 50/51/52/53/70/71/72 and related regulations
• Strong analytical thinking and technical writing capabilities
• Ability to wear protective gear and access high-consequence containment areas
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to monitor cross-shift plant activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct licensing experience with the NRC or Agreement State programs
• Experience with nuclear safety basis analysis, environmental impacts, hazard analysis, waste management, or emergency planning
• Ability to obtain a Q clearance
