About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the development, design, and implementation of plant modifications, including AC/DC power systems, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers.
- Develop technical scope, basis, installation, and testing requirements for plant modifications.
- Provide engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems of increasing complexity.
- Prepare accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Conduct engineering studies and manage project schedules with minimal oversight.
- Support field installation activities and perform system walkdowns in the plant environment.
- Participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as required, including on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (a Master's degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of a BS).
- For Nuclear Engineer I: 0-2 years of engineering experience.
- For Nuclear Engineer II: 2-4 years of engineering experience and a minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.
- Ability to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance.
- Ability to work in both office and plant environments, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Proficiency in engineering theories, principles, and project management.
- Strong skills in researching design issues, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations based on engineering judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
