About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, design, and implementation of plant modifications, including AC/DC power systems, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers.
  • Develop technical scope, basis, installation, and testing requirements for plant modifications.
  • Provide engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems of increasing complexity.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Conduct engineering studies and manage project schedules with minimal oversight.
  • Support field installation activities and perform system walkdowns in the plant environment.
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as required, including on-call rotations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (a Master's degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of a BS).
  • For Nuclear Engineer I: 0-2 years of engineering experience.
  • For Nuclear Engineer II: 2-4 years of engineering experience and a minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.
  • Ability to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance.
  • Ability to work in both office and plant environments, including wearing required personal protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Proficiency in engineering theories, principles, and project management.
  • Strong skills in researching design issues, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations based on engineering judgment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
