About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance on both nuclear safety-related and non-safety-related components
- Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and reliable plant operation
- Repair, overhaul, and modify plant electrical equipment and circuitry
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and controls using prints and specialized test equipment
- Investigate equipment failures in collaboration with Engineering and vendors to improve reliability
- Participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), requiring arrival at the station within 90 minutes of notification
- Assist in training and guiding other employees as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of Nuclear Journeyman Electrician experience or 5 years of equivalent critical industry electrical maintenance experience
- Ability to pass the EEI MASS pre-employment test at the nuclear level
- Ability to read and follow electrical drawings, prints, and technical procedures
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeter, amprobe, megger)
- Must live within 90 minutes of the plant site to meet Emergency Response Organization requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Technical School with documented certification or an accredited IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship Program
- Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems (certification preferred)
- Previous experience with nuclear reactor systems
- Previous experience with HVAC/Chiller systems
