Nuclear Electrician (Journeyman)

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on both nuclear safety-related and non-safety-related components
• Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and reliable plant operation
• Repair, overhaul, and modify plant electrical equipment and circuitry
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and controls using prints and specialized test equipment
• Investigate equipment failures in collaboration with Engineering and vendors to improve reliability
• Participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), requiring arrival at the station within 90 minutes of notification
• Assist in training and guiding other employees as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 3 years of Nuclear Journeyman Electrician experience or 5 years of equivalent critical industry electrical maintenance experience
• Ability to pass the EEI MASS pre-employment test at the nuclear level
• Ability to read and follow electrical drawings, prints, and technical procedures
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeter, amprobe, megger)
• Must live within 90 minutes of the plant site to meet Emergency Response Organization requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of Technical School with documented certification or an accredited IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship Program
• Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems (certification preferred)
• Previous experience with nuclear reactor systems
• Previous experience with HVAC/Chiller systems
