Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear criticality safety reviews of existing and proposed nuclear material operations and facilities
• Develop nuclear criticality safety evaluations and program documents meeting NRC/DOE requirements
• Utilize nuclear criticality safety software such as SCALE or MCNP
• Complete technical accuracy and compliance reviews of program documents
• Perform tracking and trending of NCS performance
• Support NCS program implementation, training, and engineering evaluations
• Support development of hazards analysis and accident analysis
• Maintain knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations

Requirements

• BS/BA in Nuclear Engineering or a directly related field
• 3 years of related nuclear criticality safety experience
• Understanding of nuclear criticality safety codes, regulations, and industry practices
• Proficiency in SCALE or MCNP software
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to possess or obtain a DOE "L/Q" clearance
• US citizenship required
