About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear criticality safety reviews of existing and proposed nuclear material operations and facilities
- Develop nuclear criticality safety evaluations and program documents meeting NRC/DOE requirements
- Utilize nuclear criticality safety software such as SCALE or MCNP
- Complete technical accuracy and compliance reviews of program documents
- Perform tracking and trending of NCS performance
- Support NCS program implementation, training, and engineering evaluations
- Support development of hazards analysis and accident analysis
- Maintain knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
Requirements
- BS/BA in Nuclear Engineering or a directly related field
- 3 years of related nuclear criticality safety experience
- Understanding of nuclear criticality safety codes, regulations, and industry practices
- Proficiency in SCALE or MCNP software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to possess or obtain a DOE "L/Q" clearance
- US citizenship required
