Nuclear Buyer

Responsibilities

• Negotiate purchase contracts for cost, delivery, and commercial/quality terms
• Ensure procurement activities comply with CSA N286, CSA N285, or CSA N299 standards
• Interpret BOMs and Technical Specifications for procurement requirements
• Source and secure quotes from qualified suppliers for purchase or estimating
• Develop procurement plans and monitor purchases from BOM acceptance to Receipt Inspection
• Liaison with Quality, Accounting, Project Management, and Site Management
• Reconcile and approve invoices for purchased items
• Manage procurement of commercial purchases and subcontracts

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
• 10 years of procurement experience within nuclear power plant industry or related construction/industrial projects
• Experience with projects of medium to high risk and complexity ($1-10m)
• Strong understanding of CSA N286, CSA N285, and CSA N299
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and AS7/Passport
• Ability to pass a Security Check provided by the client (OPG)

Preferred Qualifications

• SCMP designation
• Quality Assurance experience in supplier approvals or auditing
• Experience with JD Edwards
