About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care using approved medical practices, including clinical evaluation and management
- Perform critical care procedures including central venous and arterial lines, endotracheal intubation, and thoracentesis/paracentesis
- Utilize bedside Ultrasound POCUS for clinical decision-making
- Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety criteria appropriate to the patient population
- Educate patient families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, residents, pharmacists, and nursing staff
Requirements
- Certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA
- Current Texas licensure (NP through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or PA through the Texas State Medical Board)
- At least one year of experience as an APC in a medical or surgical ICU
Preferred Qualifications
- Conversational fluency in Spanish
