About the role
Responsibilities
- Integrate DFM/DFA principles by collaborating with R&D during early design cycles to simplify designs for automated production.
- Lead and document Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) workshops to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.
- Own the industrialization process, managing the transition from prototype builds to pilot runs and mass production.
- Define early-stage quality criteria and design assembly fixtures to ensure production meets all specifications.
- Provide technical feedback to R&D regarding manufacturing capabilities, tolerance stack-ups, and material selection.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in NPI or Industrialization environments, transitioning products from labs to the factory floor.
- High proficiency in running PFMEAs and applying DFM/DFA principles.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the defense sector.
