About the role

Responsibilities

  • Inventory, map, and control noxious weeds and invasive plant species throughout Clallam County
  • Conduct field surveys and map infestations using GPS/GIS equipment across various terrains
  • Implement weed control work plans using herbicide application, physical removal, and other specified methods
  • Collaborate with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies as well as private landowners
  • Act as a crew lead to supervise seasonal technicians in the field
  • Assist with data management, ArcGIS entry, and the drafting of project reports
  • Support educational activities, public service events, and volunteer programs

Requirements

  • Possession of a Washington State Public Pesticide Operator License with an aquatic endorsement, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in diverse field settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in plant biology, weed science, forestry, environmental science, or a related natural science field
  • One year of experience in natural resource management
