Nondestructive Evaluation Technician

Responsibilities

• Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles to develop novel testing approaches
• Develop new sensor technology and testing systems for NDE applied to manufacturing and support areas
• Define requirements and lead the development of specifications for tools, equipment, materials, and processes
• Evaluate emerging technologies and manage test/audit programs to qualify suppliers
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards including ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, and ISO
• Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
• Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• 5+ years of experience in engineering
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, or energy
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
• Experience with ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection
• Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics
• Active or current Secret U.S. Security Clearance
