About the role
Responsibilities
- Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles to develop novel testing approaches
- Develop new sensor technology and testing systems for NDE applied to manufacturing and support areas
- Define requirements and lead the development of specifications for tools, equipment, materials, and processes
- Evaluate emerging technologies and manage test/audit programs to qualify suppliers
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards including ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, and ISO
- Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
- 5+ years of experience in engineering
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry such as aerospace, defense, or energy
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- Experience with ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection
- Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics
- Active or current Secret U.S. Security Clearance
