About the role
Responsibilities
- Open and close daily operations
- Welcome customers and inform them of current metal prices
- Process payments and answer telephone calls
- Prepare shipping documents and balance the cash register
- Participate in unloading, sorting, and weighing of metals
- Enter data into RECY software
- Operate various equipment, including a forklift
- Ensure cleanliness of the premises
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Ability to work outdoors in hot or cold temperatures
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to perform metal sorting on a table or on the ground
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of metal recycling
- Experience operating a forklift
