About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor the Surf network for events and anomalies to prevent disruptions to customer experience
- Initiate, coordinate, and lead triage efforts to restore services during outages
- Act as a point of contact for Enterprise customers via IVR and email communication
- Facilitate customer outage and maintenance notifications
- Coordinate the dispatch of internet field support resources
- Perform 24/7 network monitoring of device fault events, network health, and dashboards
- Acknowledge and manually validate network alarms using ping or trace routes
- Create tickets for enterprise customers, network outages, and change management
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for wireless, fiber, and network aggregation incidents
- Maintain approved software revisions for wireless access devices, fiber access devices, and managed CPE
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work 3rd shift (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM EST)
- Working understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, SONET, and GPON
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and multi-task effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interact professionally with customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or education in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field of study
