NMDC Technologist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all network release and restoral activities for maintenance and technical projects across Flight Information Regions (FIRs).
• Monitor network performance proactively, analyze performance indicators, and prepare trend reports.
• Manage network corrective maintenance by evaluating problem impacts and establishing restoration priorities.
• Coordinate contracted maintenance activities with external agencies and telecommunications providers.
• Monitor operational systems including power, weather, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Perform initial triage on cybersecurity events and push configurations to networking devices.
• Support service management activities including incident, change, and escalation management.
• Participate in safety and quality program activities, audits, and site inspections.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or an approved alternative.
• Proven experience in telecommunications.
• Proven experience in networking.
• Bilingualism in English and French is required.
• Ability to work onsite in Ottawa, including 24-hour shift coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of radar, navigation, communication, and security systems used in air traffic services.
• Experience with service management tools and supplier portals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
