About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes including concrete, rebar, and cable terminations.
  • Execute Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and verify adherence to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Witness critical tests such as torque/tension, megger/insulation resistance, and continuity.
  • Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, including inspection reports, mill certs, weld maps, and nonconformance reports (NCRs).
  • Identify, log, and track NCRs while supporting root cause analysis and verifying corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation supports system turnover packages, as-builts, and client handover requirements.
  • Verify compliance with industry codes and standards such as NEC/NESC and utility specifications.
  • Inspect incoming materials and equipment for damage, certification, and conformity to storage requirements.
  • Provide field coaching to craft and foremen regarding workmanship and documentation best practices.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in QA/QC or field construction.
  • At least 3 years of experience in power/utility, substation, T&D, or industrial electrical environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, one-lines, schematics, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with NEC/NESC, utility standards, and typical ITP/checklist workflows.
  • Proficiency in digital QA/QC platforms such as Procore, BIM 360/ACC, or Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to work onsite at active construction sites, travel to project locations, and work night shifts or extended hours as required.
