Nextgen Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage daily administrative and operational activities for the USDA-NEXTGEN agricultural research grant
• Monitor grant budgets, coordinate procurement of goods and services, and process travel reimbursements
• Facilitate communication between the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PIs, collaborating institutions, and the USDA
• Coordinate and document all project meetings, off-campus visits, and research-related activities
• Interview, hire, and supervise research students
• Maintain project records, develop documentation systems, and streamline existing administrative processes
• Assist with the timely submission of reports and prepare written correspondence and materials

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, natural resources, environmental science, or a closely related field
• At least 1 year of experience in research, higher education, or management
• Foundational knowledge of agriculture or related sciences
• Proficiency in word processing and database management
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Banner/Ellucian software
• Experience in sponsored research project management
