News Producer

Responsibilities

• Produce newscasts and news-related shows for multiplatform distribution
• Craft newscasts including stacking, writing, editing copy, in-studio moves, and ordering graphics
• Coordinate live shots with directors, production staff, and reporters
• Lead the process from the control room during live broadcasts, remotes, and breaking news situations
• Develop original story ideas and research potential show topics
• Book guests for shows and use social media tools to enhance and promote products and talent

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of news producing experience in a medium to large TV market
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) with strong grammar skills
• Knowledge of television production, news gathering equipment, and computer systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays, weekends, and evenings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience producing talk shows, interviews, panel shows, or news magazines
• Experience engaging with digital audiences and being social media savvy
