News Producer

Responsibilities

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity and creativity
• Craft stories of all lengths for various platforms to engage specific audiences
• Combine live pictures, graphics, video, and sound to create engaging newscasts
• Meet daily deadlines and manage breaking news situations calmly
• Provide continuous coverage for live streams during community events and breaking news
• Use data analytics to help shape show content and improve storytelling
• Ensure diverse communities and viewpoints are represented in the rundown

Requirements

• 0-1 years of news content experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications, or a related field
• Strong journalistic judgment and understanding of professional journalism tenets
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle changing live events
• Strong social media skills and an active news presence on social platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ENPS or Edius systems
