New Student Mentor

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with new students to facilitate their transition to college life and Texas Wesleyan University.
• Lead small groups of new students through their orientation experience, including New Student Registration Days and Ram Camp.
• Encourage and support student organizations, departments, and academic programs to align with the college's mission.
• Work collaboratively with teammates and staff to welcome incoming students.
• Attend all mandatory trainings during the semester and summer, as well as all orientation dates.
• Maintain professional working relationships with faculty, staff, and the diverse student population.

Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 semester GPA and a 2.7 cumulative GPA.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to attend all required meetings and training sessions.
• Ability to handle confidential matters in compliance with FERPA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in student leadership.
• Experience in event planning or working within student organizations.
