About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead APQP activities for new mechanical components including battery enclosures and thermal management systems
- Conduct DFM/DFA design reviews to ensure manufacturability and assembly feasibility
- Develop and execute DVP&R for mechanical systems
- Coordinate PPAP submissions and ensure supplier readiness
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as IATF 16949, AIS 038, and AIS 156
- Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methods
- Implement FMEA for mechanical systems and drive risk mitigation
- Define quality checkpoints and coordinate environmental and durability testing
- Interface with design, manufacturing, and validation teams to resolve quality issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8-10 years of experience in automotive quality
- At least 5 years in new product development
- Hands-on experience with EV battery systems or automotive structural components
- Proficiency in GD&T interpretation and tolerance analysis
- Experience with quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and Indian automotive standards (AIS series)
