New Product Quality Specialist - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP activities for new mechanical components including battery enclosures and thermal management systems
• Conduct DFM/DFA design reviews to ensure manufacturability and assembly feasibility
• Develop and execute DVP&R for mechanical systems
• Coordinate PPAP submissions and ensure supplier readiness
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as IATF 16949, AIS 038, and AIS 156
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methods
• Implement FMEA for mechanical systems and drive risk mitigation
• Define quality checkpoints and coordinate environmental and durability testing
• Interface with design, manufacturing, and validation teams to resolve quality issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8-10 years of experience in automotive quality
• At least 5 years in new product development
• Hands-on experience with EV battery systems or automotive structural components
• Proficiency in GD&T interpretation and tolerance analysis
• Experience with quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and Indian automotive standards (AIS series)
