New Graduate Nurse

Responsibilities

• Function as part of a hemodialysis healthcare team to provide quality patient care in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Direct Patient Care Technicians and delegate tasks to direct patient care staff, including LVNs/LPNs and Dialysis Assistants.
• Assess daily patient care needs, develop assignments, and monitor staff for adherence to facility protocols.
• Provide ongoing education to patients and families regarding End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), vascular access, dialysis therapy, and medication compliance.
• Implement and monitor hemodialysis treatment prescriptions, making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as indicated by prescribing physicians.
• Manage laboratory-related duties, including reviewing physician orders, ensuring correct specimen collection, and reporting abnormal results.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within the Medical Information System.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the treatment area and maintain competency with all dialysis-related equipment.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months.
• Ability to obtain a nursing license and registration within 90 days of hire (or as defined by state regulations).
• Possession of a current state Temporary Permit.
• Must meet all state practice requirements for the location of employment.
