Neurosurgeon

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures involving the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves.
• Manage conditions including brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, spinal disorders, and intracranial hemorrhage.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as MRI, CT scans, and cerebral angiography.
• Conduct outpatient consultations and provide comprehensive inpatient care.
• Participate in trauma and emergency neurosurgical services, including on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, radiologists, and oncologists.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and fellows.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• MS/DNB in General Surgery or equivalent.
• MCh/DNB/Fellowship/CCT/Board Certification in Neurosurgery.
• Valid DOH Consultant license (or eligibility for one).
• Minimum 8–10 years of post-specialty experience, including experience in a tertiary care hospital.
• Expertise in advanced cranial and spinal neurosurgical procedures.
• Strong microsurgical and minimally invasive surgical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Spine Surgery, Skull Base Surgery, Neuro-oncology, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Vascular Neurosurgery, or Functional Neurosurgery.
