Network System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, model, validate, and secure deterministic Ethernet networks for critical railway systems using the OSI 7-layer model.
• Define in-train architectures, operating modes, and functions based on internal and external requirements.
• Manage requirements from business, standards, safety, and client specifications throughout the train lifecycle.
• Write subsystem and equipment specifications for both internal and external development.
• Oversee suppliers for switches, routers, and gateways, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Perform network captures using Wireshark, load testing, and redundancy/failover validation.
• Support vehicle testing, including dynamic trials and regression testing.
• Troubleshoot technical anomalies and provide feedback for continuous solution improvement.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in a relevant technical field.
• Proven experience in the development of systems or components within an industrial environment.
• High proficiency with Wireshark for network analysis and troubleshooting.
• Fluency in English to communicate autonomously in a professional setting.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills with a proactive approach to complex projects.
• Knowledge of engineering processes such as the V-cycle or Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or affinity with Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
