About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage firewall policy hygiene, including rule recertification and cleanup
  • Identify and remediate policies that violate established security standards
  • Coordinate policy recertification and report on compliance
  • Review, approve, and implement security change requests
  • Respond to audit requests, findings, and necessary remediations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Support network security through analysis of security and network traffic
  • Ability to work during off-hours or weekends as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with NGFW security technologies (Fortinet, CheckPoint, or Palo Alto)
  • Experience with security policy analyzer tools such as Algosec, Tufin, or Firemon
  • Knowledge of host-based security technologies
  • Strong analytical skills for security policy and log analysis
  • Experience with security policy and process audits
  • Familiarity with scripting
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in the financial services industry
  • Technical certifications related to NGFW vendors
  • Basic understanding of SASE vendors (Netskope, Zscaler, Cato Networks, Cloudflare, etc.)
  • Understanding of WAF technologies and load balancing
