Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assess the security and compliance of infrastructure and application technologies to protect customers and employees from attacks
• Encourage a 'Shift Left' mindset by proactively embedding security requirements from the start of the development cycle
• Perform security assessments and gap analyses, providing appropriate remediations to implementation teams
• Secure various infrastructure components including OS, databases, VPNs, proxies, firewalls, data centers, and Active Directory
• Conduct configuration reviews and audits for network components and appliances
• Participate in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing activities
• Review security code for Ansible and Jenkins scripts
• Evaluate end-point solutions, next-generation firewalls, IDS, IPS, and WAF rules

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field (Computer Science, Cyber Security, Physics, Mathematics, or similar)
• 4-9 years of experience in an information security function
• 3-5 years of experience specifically as a Network Security Engineer
• Deep foundational knowledge of Information Security concepts
• Understanding of enterprise-level target architecture and public/private cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS)
• Hands-on experience with perimeter, core, and end-point protection/detection
• Strong skill set in endpoint technologies such as AV, EDR, and SIEM
• Automation skills in scripting languages like Python
• Superior written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field
• Certifications in Network Security (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
• Certifications in Security Pentesting (OSCP, GPEN, LPT, CPT)
