Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assess compliance of information systems with DoD RMF standards
• Develop cyber-secure configurations for firewalls, switches, and routers
• Plan, deploy, integrate, and test network upgrades at operational sites
• Ensure systems and devices are properly STIGed and hardened
• Conduct independent research on networking and security topics
• Support real-world events including nights and weekends when required

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and valid U.S. passport
• Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
• Understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, and UDP Multicast
• Experience with firewall configuration (Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto)
• Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing
• Knowledge of ACL design and NIST CVE framework
• Experience with virtualization technologies and VMware/ESXi hardening
• Ability to travel to alternate work locations like Schriever Space Force Base

Preferred Qualifications

• Scripting experience with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell
• Solid understanding of JUNOS
• Prior experience with the program
