About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting and analysis within an Enterprise IT environment
- Assist engineers with configuring and maintaining network routing, switching, and applications across Linux and Microsoft environments
- Utilize COTS software including SolarWinds, Splunk, MECM, Cisco Call Manager, and BMC FootPrints
- Troubleshoot, repair, and configure network devices and firewalls
- Execute system administrator duties such as user account management, certificates, and group policy
- Maintain and troubleshoot virtual environments using VMware, Esxi, and VSphere
- Configure and troubleshoot type 1 encryption devices
- Support monthly patch management, LAN/Site installations, and software upgrades
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government Top Secret security clearance required on day one (with ability to obtain SCI)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred)
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Proven experience working in an Enterprise IT environment
- Ability to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Windows & Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
- Proficiency with Linux bash and implementing computer security
- Strong understanding of network engineering fundamentals, including OSI layers, IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, and DHCP
- Willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required
