Network Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair fiber, trunk, and distribution problems related to power levels, RF, AC, and DC.
• Perform preventative maintenance on power supplies, plant electronics, and physical plant components.
• Conduct routine balancing, alignment, and adjustment of plant equipment including fiber nodes and trunk amps.
• Repair signal leakage and participate in ongoing CLI monitoring and repair programs.
• Perform service technician duties when needed, including troubleshooting customer cable and high-speed internet services.
• Participate in scheduled on-call duties, including weekends and overtime as required.
• Maintain accurate daily records, logs, receipts, and a clean, stocked company vehicle.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, OSHA, FCC, NEC, and local ordinances.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CATV Service Technician or in a related technical role.
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal level meters, and TDRs.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Ability to perform fiber optic splicing and equipment configuration on various coaxial cable sizes.
• Ability to read and comprehend system design prints.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills.
