Network Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, racking, and cabling of network hardware including routers, switches, and access points
• Run and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling under supervision
• Conduct basic troubleshooting of physical connectivity issues
• Follow detailed instructions, network diagrams, and equipment layouts for accurate installations
• Support Wi-Fi survey teams with setup and equipment handling
• Perform equipment labeling, documentation, and site clean-up post-deployment
• Collaborate with project teams and escalate issues as needed
• Assist with site readiness surveys regarding rack space, power, and cabling paths
• Adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and project deadlines

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in IT, networking, field service, or a related technical role
• Basic understanding of networking hardware and cabling types (Cat5e/6, fiber)
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team setting
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Comfortable using hand tools and working with hardware in various environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically active roles
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 85% both domestically and internationally
• Flexibility with working hours including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCT
• Familiarity with networking concepts like IP addressing, ports, and patching
• Experience in structured cabling, telecom, or data center environments
• Exposure to ticketing or project tracking systems like ServiceNow or Jira
