Network Engineer, SME

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 3 network engineering support and troubleshooting for O&M operations across PACAF networks (NIPR/SIPR/Coalition).
• Support the development of System Design Plans (SDP), including drawings, rack elevations, and configurations.
• Implement and sustain routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, and QoS configurations.
• Conduct change management planning, technical implementation procedures, and risk assessments.
• Execute network upgrades and integrate hardware/software solutions.
• Perform complex diagnostics for network service issues and ensure RMF-aligned security integration.
• Coordinate with PACAF/A6 stakeholders for validation and site assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of senior-level network engineering experience designing and implementing secure DoD networks.
• Technical expertise in network architecture, routing protocols, firewall policy, and QoS.
• Proficiency with VMware, Microsoft Teams, VoIP/Unified Comms, and Windows Server.
• Experience with cloud-enablement strategies and cross-domain solutions.
• Active Top Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure or Security) or Cisco CCDP.
• Cloud Architecture certification (AWS Solutions Architect or DoD Cloud certs).
• Active DoD IAT Level III certification.
• Current DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 10+ years of experience with complex network systems.
