About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the smooth operation of classified voice and data networks
  • Plan, install, and reconfigure hardware and software elements including switches, routers, firewalls, and encryptors
  • Propose technical solutions to optimize cost savings, redundancy, and network uptime
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, technical diagrams, and operational instructions
  • Provide regular network monitoring and analysis for short- and long-range planning
  • Collaborate with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments
  • Mentor and train technical team members to improve overall performance

Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance (required on day 1)
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
  • Knowledge of current cabling and fiber standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with access control lists, security posture, and vendor best practices
  • Proficiency with Visio for diagramming and design
  • Knowledge of encryption device configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds
  • Security+ certification (desired within 6 months) and CCNA (desired within a year)
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes
