Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement robust, scalable, and secure network architectures including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud solutions
• Manage network security through firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control
• Lead the deployment of network hardware and software such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
• Ensure network resilience by implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies

Requirements

• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (Secret clearance required post-start)
• Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Minimum 1 year of experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Dell)
• Active IAT Level 2 certification per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)

Preferred Qualifications

• 9 or more years of experience for Senior level roles
• Experience with Quality of Service (QoS), routing and switching protocols, and VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN, Azure ExpressRoute)
• Experience with Palo Alto next-generation firewall systems
• Experience with network automation and scripting using Python or Ansible
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or Wireshark
• Experience with cloud networking environments such as AWS or Azure
• Relevant certifications such as JNCIA, PCNSA, or CCNA
