Network Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and upgrade core service provider network devices
• Support and optimize 100G and 400G transport networks
• Manage DWDM systems, MPLS networks, and private/public eBGP peering
• Maintain public IPv4 and IPv6 addressing infrastructure
• Research, test, and deploy emerging service provider technologies
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for network operations
• Administer critical network services including DNS, DHCP, TACACS, and monitoring platforms
• Develop and maintain accurate network documentation
• Train and mentor fellow engineers and technical staff
• Contribute to long-term network architecture planning and strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of experience, or Associate's degree with 10+ years of experience
• Extensive experience supporting service provider networks
• Expertise in BGP and OSPF routing protocols
• Expertise in MPLS environments and complex network design
• Proficiency with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR platforms
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics skills
• Experience with Linux-based network services (DNS, DHCP, TACACS)

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher
• CCNP Service Provider concentration
