Network Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Trading, IT Infrastructure, and Development teams to configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure
• Provide day-to-day support for network and application environments, including port configuration and cabling
• Perform evening and weekend support and maintenance, including travel to data centers as required
• Work with senior engineers to design, implement, and manage effective WAN/LAN networks for global trading platforms
• Partner with network providers to ensure infrastructure remains stable, competitive, and cost-effective
• Document processes and focus on the automation of day-to-day operations

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional network engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, the OSI stack, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Experience with networking hardware such as Juniper, Arista, or Cisco
• Knowledge of switching, firewalls, STP, VLANs, VPNs, and multicast routing (IGMP, PIM)
• Proficiency in network traffic and protocol analysis using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python

Preferred Qualifications

• Desire to obtain CCNA or CCNP certifications
