Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-connected architectures across district sites.
• Architect and maintain Azure cloud networking environments, including VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall.
• Optimize network performance for high-density learning environments to support instructional technology.
• Manage Azure AD, identity integrations, and hybrid infrastructure using zero-trust principles.
• Monitor on-premises and cloud networks using tools such as Meraki Dashboard, Azure Monitor, and SolarWinds.
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices, including MFA, conditional access, and least privilege.
• Support connectivity for VoIP systems, SIP trunking, and classroom technologies.
• Maintain thorough documentation for network diagrams, configurations, and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining LAN/WAN/WLAN environments across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, and routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP.
• Experience with Azure networking, identity management, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, firewalls, and endpoint security.
• Experience supporting Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with VoIP systems and SIP trunking.
• Ability to travel frequently to school sites and participate in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-700.
• Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
