Network Engineer, Global Network Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response efforts for complex network events affecting global backbone, edge, and data center infrastructure
• Identify and implement network changes to address security vulnerabilities, capacity constraints, and business continuity risks
• Analyze network fault trends, traffic patterns, and infrastructure capacity data to proactively detect systemic issues
• Develop and refine operational processes, runbooks, and escalation procedures to improve global efficiency
• Collaborate with network design and engineering teams to provide operational feedback for future architecture decisions
• Partner with automation teams to identify opportunities for automated fault detection and remediation
• Maintain accurate operational documentation, including network topology records, change logs, and incident postmortems
• Communicate technical findings and operational priorities clearly to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience operating and troubleshooting large-scale production network infrastructure (backbone, edge, or data center)
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and spanning tree
• Experience with network hardware platforms such as Juniper, Cisco, or Arista
• Experience analyzing network telemetry, traffic flows, and fault data to drive systemic improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
• Experience working within a global Network Operations Center (NOC) environment
• Experience with optical transport or WDM network infrastructure in a hyperscale context
