Network Engineer, Foundation Services Automation

Responsibilities

• Automate and integrate detection, triage, and repair pipelines for IP, Ethernet, and non-Ethernet networks
• Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate, and remediate network events to improve efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams to define and automate optimal workflows for network deployment and repair
• Proactively identify organizational gaps and drive execution plans to influence technical direction across teams
• Perform detailed troubleshooting and engage with partner teams to resolve system and tooling issues
• Mentor new team members and assist with recruiting and onboarding to ensure rapid ramp-up

Requirements

• 10+ years of automation experience in the networking domain within large-scale networks
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies
• Proficiency in Python and experience with REST APIs
• Experience with network devices including routers, switches, and load balancers
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) for coding efficiency
• Knowledge of Linux OS and networking fundamentals
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
• Experience developing or operating distributed systems at scale
• Knowledge of C, C++, Go, or Rust
• Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation
• Advanced degree (MS or Graduate work) in a technical discipline
