Network Deployment Technician

Responsibilities

• Install and configure routers, switches, and DWDM hardware
• Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations, and configurations
• Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations
• Work cross-functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects
• Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues
• Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects
• Perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meet AWS standards
• Decommission cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams
• Lift and rack equipment up to 40lbs and work in various data center environments

Requirements

• 2+ years of computer networking experience
• 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40lbs
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a data center environment (racking/stacking, cable management, containment)
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to safety guidelines
• 3+ years of combined computer networking and Linux operating system experience
