About the role
Responsibilities
- Install and configure routers, switches, and DWDM hardware
- Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations, and configurations
- Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations
- Work cross-functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects
- Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues
- Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects
- Perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meet AWS standards
- Decommission cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams
- Lift and rack equipment up to 40lbs and work in various data center environments
Requirements
- 2+ years of computer networking experience
- 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40lbs
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking/stacking, cable management, containment)
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to safety guidelines
- 3+ years of combined computer networking and Linux operating system experience
