Network Deployment Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure in data centers and POP sites
• Calculate and document equipment power requirements and coordinate with facilities and vendors
• Manage project timelines for network turn-up and oversee asset management of networking gear
• Create network/server rack elevations, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and detailed port maps
• Develop statements of work for vendors and design cage/rack layouts
• Document and follow RMA processes and implement data center best practices
• Use internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment
• Detect and diagnose error/failure conditions across various server types

Requirements

• Experience in data center deployment and large-scale infrastructure building
• Knowledge of optical equipment, DWDM, and fiber-optic technology
• Understanding of datacenter network architecture and common network issues
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems
• Ability to capture and analyze network traffic
• Experience with IPv6 and familiarity with scripting languages
• Experience dealing with service providers and colocation facilities globally
• Ability to lift/move 30-40 lbs
• Willingness to travel 10% to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Linux-based servers and network devices
• Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or RHCT
