Network Administrator

Responsibilities

• Perform daily administration and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure, including Juniper and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve connectivity issues promptly
• Support implementation of network security configurations and policies in alignment with DoD cybersecurity frameworks
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and support remediation efforts using tools such as ACAS
• Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and contribute to Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance
• Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configuration baselines, and asset inventories
• Assist in incident response activities by collecting and analyzing network data
• Work closely with senior network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and systems teams on RMF-aligned initiatives
• Participate in formal change management processes for planned network updates and implementations

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance
• DoD 8470/8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
• 3+ years of experience in network administration in a DoD or large-scale IT environment
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, Juniper and Cisco routing, and switching
• Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, VLAN configuration, and VMware networking
• Familiarity with RMF processes, STIGs, and system hardening practices
• Proficiency with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, ping, and traceroute
