Neonatologist

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage medical conditions affecting premature and critically ill newborns
• Provide comprehensive care in the NICU, SCBU, and newborn nursery
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
• Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, umbilical catheterization, and lumbar puncture
• Monitor and manage ventilated neonates and critically ill newborns
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, pediatricians, and nurses
• Counsel and educate parents regarding neonatal conditions and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with Oman Ministry of Health regulations

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• MD, DNB, Arab Board, MRCPCH, or Fellowship in Neonatology
• Eligibility for or possession of a valid Oman Ministry of Health (MoH) license
• 5–8 years of post-specialization experience in Neonatology
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and critical care skills
