Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical care to newborn patients in the L&D, nursery, and intensive care units
• Perform critical procedures including delivery room resuscitation, intubation, central line placement, and chest tube placement
• Maintain accurate and adequate medical records for all patients treated during scheduled shifts
• Collaborate with neonatologists and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate clinical policies
• Participate in quality improvement (QI) monitoring and peer evaluations to enhance patient care
• Act as a clinical resource for staff and participate in clinical research opportunities

Requirements

• APRN or PAA licensure in the State of Illinois
• Completion of a Master's level specialty program
• NCC certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications
• Valid Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License
• Proficiency in newborn airway management and central line placement (umbilical and PCVC)

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of inpatient newborn experience
• Relevant acute care pediatric experience
• Certificate of completion from a neonatal PA fellowship
