About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support research projects, including advising on design, planning activities, and monitoring progress.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research data for reports and publications.
- Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to support program development and funding applications.
- Prepare, review, and submit grant applications, reports, and other research-related documentation.
- Assist in Indigenous knowledge translation activities, including preparing manuscripts and stakeholder documents.
- Ensure all research activities comply with ethical, privacy, and institutional requirements.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day direction to students and project contributors.
Requirements
- Master's degree in public health, community development, mental health, Indigenous studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of relevant research experience.
- Proven experience working with Indigenous leaders, communities, and organizations.
- Demonstrated experience applying Indigenous research methodologies and working within Indigenous knowledge frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis and management software such as nVivo and Qualtrics.
- Experience with Research Ethics Boards (REB) and grant application processes.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of Indigenous affairs, health, and cultural traditional knowledges.
Preferred Qualifications
- OCAP certification.
