NDT Inspector

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate equipment to perform Penetrant and Radiography inspections on flight-critical hardware
• Interpret, evaluate, and disposition inspection results against engineering drawings and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and welding teams to schedule inspections and communicate findings
• Assist in developing, refining, and validating NDT procedures and inspection techniques
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Level I technicians and trainees
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and research new inspection capabilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Level II NDT certification in Penetrant (PT) AND Radiography (RT/CR/DR) per ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, or DOD guidance (or Level I ready to test for Level II)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Understanding of industry standards like ASTM E1417 and AWS D17.1
• Minimum vision requirements of 20/25 (Snellen) at 16"
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional NDT Level II or III certifications (ET, VT, UT/PAUT, or MT)
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Aerospace industry experience with weldments and advanced materials
• Knowledge of NASA, AMS, or ASME standards
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving techniques (8D, PPS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and NDT-specific software
