NDT Assistant Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory nondestructive testing using automated and manual techniques to identify defects under direct supervision
• Analyze testing results according to established guidelines
• Prepare daily field and laboratory reports and manage project files
• Transport NDT equipment to and from project sites
• Work in various terrain, weather conditions, and construction stages
• Identify and avoid potential safety hazards for workers and the public
• Study for and obtain Level II NDT certification per company written practice
• Pursue American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector certification

Requirements

• Associate degree in NDT or experience in a construction-related field preferred
• Ability to complete and pass OSHA 10-hour safety training
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes
• Working knowledge or ability to become proficient in applicable technologies
• Valid driver's license and good driving history
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
