NDE/Welding Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform Nondestructive Examination (NDE) and welding examinations
• Test and inspect steam valves, pressure vessels, fixed ladders, piping components, and structural assemblies
• Support required repair work and new construction/fabrication
• Work in both shop and field environments
• Produce isometric sketches for documentation purposes

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
• Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate
• ASNT SNT TC 1A Level II liquid penetrant (PT) and visual inspection (VT) qualifications
• Working knowledge of ASNT, ASME B31, AWS B2.1, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.6, AWS D9.1, and ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes
• Ability to produce isometric sketches by hand or CAD
• Proficiency with basic office software (Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

• ASNT SNT TC 1A Level II magnetic particle (MT) yoke inspection qualification
• Experience with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
• Strong welding background and knowledge of shop/field fabrication techniques
