NDE Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive examination (NDE) inspections in the field at the Farley Nuclear Plant and other Southern Nuclear operating sites
• Plan, schedule, and implement inspection activities, including outage support
• Prepare and set up test equipment for inspections
• Evaluate inspection results in accordance with ASME and ANSI standards
• Manage multiple activities including planning, scheduling, and implementation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Level II ECT certification (Required)
• Level IIA ECT certification (Required)
• Working knowledge of nuclear power plants
• Knowledge of ASME and NDE codes and standards
• Ability to travel domestically up to 50% to various fleet nuclear units
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
• Must be able to provide entire certification package for verification prior to employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other NDE methods
• Industrial site experience
• Demonstrated leadership attributes
