About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain stability and weights & balances analyses using GHS and other internal tools
  • Develop and release Node structure drawings to keep fabrication on track
  • Perform detailed design of mechanical, structural, and support subsystems
  • Determine requirements for stability, seakeeping, mooring, structures, and marine operations
  • Drive hydrodynamic loads investigations involving multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to Orcaflex analyses and hydrodynamic studies
  • Drive Node program strategies for corrosion mitigation and biofouling prevention
  • Work with Marine Operations Engineering to develop concepts of operations for deployment and recovery
  • Participate in external communications with regulators, insurance partners, and marine surveyors
  • Lead and participate in design reviews with internal teams and external fabricators

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or similar field
  • 2+ years of professional experience in stability, seakeeping, and weights/balances analyses
  • Professional experience using GHS or equivalent vessel stability software (e.g., Maxsurf, Orca3D)
  • Professional experience using parametric CAD (e.g., NX, Solidworks)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to engineers and suppliers
  • Ability to travel to vendors and test sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RANS theory and tools (Star-CCM+, OpenFoam)
  • Shipyard manufacturing or repair experience
  • Experience with high-end hydrodynamics analysis software (e.g., Ansys AQWA, WAMIT)
  • Proficiency with Orcaflex and 3D CAD modeling
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter or Rhino3D
  • Experience with finite element analysis (NX NASTRAN, FEMAP)
  • Proficiency in Python, Julia, or MATLAB
  • Experience using AI tools for programming and analysis workflows
