About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain relationships with state and metropolitan homeland security, emergency management, and law enforcement leaders
- Develop and execute policy engagement strategies regarding AI-enabled cyber attacks, election interference, and biological threats
- Represent OpenAI in engagements with governors' and mayors' offices and municipal agencies
- Draft policy briefs, strategy memos, and stakeholder materials regarding AI security implications
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in homeland security, emergency management, cybersecurity, or public safety policy
- Deep knowledge of the U.S. homeland security and critical infrastructure ecosystem at the state and local level
- Proven ability to translate complex AI capabilities into practical policy for government leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience at DHS or in senior state/metropolitan homeland security or cyber roles
- Demonstrated credibility with state and local government leaders and professional associations
- Familiarity with AI-related security challenges such as biosecurity or criminal misuse
