About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational leadership to the US Commercial Real Estate team, overseeing portfolio, risk, regulatory, and compliance functions.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Commercial Real Estate line of business as a key member of the Leadership Team.
  • Manage a team of 50 portfolio managers, setting objectives and tracking scorecard results.
  • Make capital allocation decisions and credit recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and regulatory policies.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to align portfolio staffing and processes with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Underwriting and Commercial Banking leaders to ensure timely credit approvals and identify potential risks.
  • Monitor industry trends, capital markets, and valuation shifts to maintain an acceptable risk profile.
  • Represent the Bank in the business community and participate in active governance roles on community boards.

Requirements

  • University Degree.
  • 15+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate lending.
  • In-depth knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Valuations.
  • Expert-level Risk Management and Negotiation skills.
  • In-depth experience in Strategic Business Planning.
  • Proven expertise in Change Leadership and Managerial Leadership.
  • Strong background in Sales and Service Management.
