National Distribution Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of four Canadian distribution centres and the broader distribution network.
• Oversee warehousing, inventory management, shipping, logistics, and branch replenishment for hardgoods (CPG).
• Lead a national team with a strong focus on safety, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Guide distribution teams through modernization and change management to meet evolving business needs.
• Manage team performance through positive coaching and communication to achieve regional and national objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Procurement, Retail Operations, and Product Management.
• Use data analytics to identify trends, optimize the supply chain, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
• Establish annual business plans, set performance metrics, and manage budgets to reduce operating costs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focusing on branch deliveries, route optimization, and fill rates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing multiple locations.
• Deep expertise in logistics and inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, upper management, and customers.
• Ability to lead with a hands-on, visible style that balances strategic thinking with people focus.

Preferred Qualifications

• TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and WHMIS certification.
• Familiarity with JD Edwards software.
• Fluency in French is considered an asset.
