National Digital News Curator

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish news stories of national interest for Hearst Television stations nationwide
• Craft compelling headlines and effective mobile push notifications
• Respond quickly to breaking news using strong editorial judgment for digital distribution
• Curate and syndicate national and international news content from partners and local stations
• Copy edit content in strict adherence to AP Style
• Edit and create videos and graphics for social media channels
• Manage live video streams across digital, mobile, and social platforms
• Coordinate with local stations and digital teams to support coverage needs
• Maintain high ethical and journalistic standards

Requirements

• Experience working in a newsroom or digital publishing environment
• Strong news judgment and editorial decision-making skills
• Excellent AP writing and copyediting skills
• Basic knowledge of video editing
• Understanding of social media best practices
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24-hour news cycle
• Related military experience will be considered
